“ERGO designs the first children’s gaming website for the Kunstpalast Museum.”

Vanessa Riecke

In 2019, the Düsseldorf Kunstpalast was the first museum in Germany to launch an interactive website for children. As Düsseldorf’s digital partner, ERGO experts were involved in the project.

The www.kunstpalast.de/kinder website focuses on the artworks in the Kunstpalast’s varied collection which children can explore in a fun way: as a thief in the museum with security guards on their heels, competing against the computer in a game of pairs, answering quiz questions or playing detective with the pictures. The children are assisted by the museum’s famous lady rhino, Nele, and her little bird friend, Piet. Incidentally, students of the Düsseldorf Wim-Wenders-Gymnasium helped to choose the names for the new website.

The games and animations were designed and developed by the digital experts of ERGO Digital Ventures and ERGO Digital IT. ERGO Art & Values experts also shared their know-how in developing the concepts. The cooperation with the Kunstpalast Museum is part of the digital partnership between the state capital Düsseldorf and ERGO.
