The classic con trick
A businesswoman is inveigled into conversation by a stranger in a hotel lobby. Shortly afterwards, she notices that her valuable diamond bracelet is missing from her wrist. The hotel surveillance camera solves the mystery: the guest was the victim of a theft. We shoulder the loss and replace the piece of jewellery.
Burglar in action
While they are on holiday, a couple’s town apartment is burgled. As not all jewellery had been stowed away in the safe, the burglar was able to make off with an expensive heirloom. However, jewellery that is not locked away is covered by ERGO insurance up to an agreed maximum amount. We indemnify the policyholder for their loss quickly, without further ado.
Bad fall

- The insurance covers the wearing and carrying of the insured items if they are in the policyholder’s personal safekeeping
- Unless agreed otherwise, gems and jewellery not under lock and key are insured up to an amount of €20,000 (furs in the apartment up to €50,000). Furthermore, gems and jewellery are insured up to the agreed sum if they are stored in a locked safe
